If I were to list down the top Malaysian food one should never miss, satay would be definitely in the list.

Some say it is a simple food that should taste good regardless of the cook. Well, I personally think it is quite the opposite as the simplest food can be the most difficult dish to make delicious.

I have preference in heavier flavour marinated barbeque meat (more turmeric and spices please!) or satay in Malay language, serves with slightly spicy and not too salty fresh peanut sauce. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find the perfect combination of both in every hawker stalls. And yes, most hawker stalls serve satay, but the good one is always hard to find.

I was lucky to stumble upon this great stall in the famous SS2 food court or what the local calls as ‘Wai Sek Kai’. Lim BBQ satay is the name to locate and it is just a few stalls away from the always-long-queue nasi lemak stall.

Lim BBQ satay comes in 5 pieces in each set of selection with prices range from RM 4.50 to RM 6.00. I simply love their pork satay for its tenderness and flavour. They are generous enough to marinate the meat with great amount of right spices to bring out the flavour of the barbeque meat and yet you can still savour the taste of the meat. They are prepared in well proportion. It is definitely a must try food there, much better than the pork satay I had way back when I visited Malacca (Melaka).

I wanted to order the BBQ pork intestine but it was out. So, if you crave for satay next time, do visit this little stall that serves big satay! Try out the pork intestine and let me know if it is good. Enjoy!
